Every piece is made in silver but in two different variations, Fine silver and Sterling silver.
Sterling silver is the most common alloy used in jewelery with a silver purity of usually 92.5% and 7.5% copper.
Almost every silver jewelry sold around the world is made from Sterling silver because the copper makes is tougher and more resistant to scratches. Which is more desirable.
The disadvantage unfortunately is that Sterling silver oxidizes and will tarnish alot faster than Fine silver.
Fine silver has a purity of 99.9% silver and is rarely used because of its softness. It is much more resistant to oxidation and keeps a brighter shine alot longer.
It's very unique to forge silver jewelry today and thanks to the constant hammering on the leaves, it work-hardens the silver. This makes it possible for me to make my necklaces in Fine silver as those will be hard enough for a everyday piece.
